What podcasters get

Each one shown on a different show, straight from the engine.

  1. A short list you can review in minutes.

Cliplala removes near-duplicate moments and drops any short that does not stand on its own before you see it. What is left is a ranked list you can read in one sitting, and every short says why it was picked, so a yes or a no takes two seconds.

  2. Every short starts at the start of the thought.

Every cut snaps to a sentence edge from the word-level transcript, never inside a word. Then a second pass asks the question you would ask: does the first line stand alone, and does the last line land? A clip that fails is re-cut or thrown out.

  3. Two speakers, camera cuts, one clean 9:16 frame.

The layout is chosen about once a second from what is on screen, not once per clip. Two people talking get stacked; a close-up goes solo; a cut to the guest does not throw the whole short into letterbox. The crop follows the face through the cut.

  4. Your evening back, after every episode.

Paste the link or drop the file and go do something else. What comes back is a short list to review, not a timeline to edit. The ones you keep queue to TikTok, Reels, Shorts and 10+ platforms from the same screen. No download, no re-upload.

  5. Shorts that look like your show, not like everyone else's.

Ten caption styles, burned in with the spoken word highlighted, so your shorts do not share a look with everyone else's. The layout is driven by your footage. And when a frame is wrong, Adjust framing re-cuts that one short, free on every plan.

The guest's best line, with the guest on screen

The picker reads who is speaking. When the guest lands the line, the crop is on the guest, not on the host nodding. Every short carries the moment that made you book them.

What it does not promise

  • A fixed number of shorts. De-duplication and the coherence check drop shorts on purpose; a tight talk yields more than a rambling one.
  • A score that predicts views. Every short gets a rank and a written reason, and you can disagree with it.
  • A time. Long sources take longer; you see shorts as they finish.
  • A second part when a moment runs long. Planned, not built; today a long moment is trimmed to the clip length you set, or dropped.

Questions

How do I turn a podcast into shorts?

Paste the episode's YouTube link or upload the video file. Cliplala transcribes it, picks the moments people quote, cuts them to 9:16 with the speaker in frame and captions burned in, and shows them ranked with a reason each. You review, then queue the ones you like to your platforms.

Does it work with two hosts, or a host and a guest?

Yes. When two people are on screen it stacks them in the 9:16 frame; when one is on a close-up it goes solo. The layout is chosen about once a second from what is actually on screen, so a cut to the guest does not break the whole short.

How many shorts do I get from one video?

It depends on the video. The engine keeps the moments that stand on their own and drops near-duplicates and cuts that start or end mid-thought, so a tight talk can return more usable shorts than a rambling one. You can set a target count and a clip length before it runs.

Will shorts from my own episodes get my channel flagged for reused content?

YouTube Support's answer to a creator who asked: "yes, generally, you are allowed to create a separate clips channel using your own long-form content. However, under the Reused Content Policy, channels that repurpose existing content must add significant value to the material." The same reply names what counts: "substantive modifications, adding new editing, or presenting the clips in a way that provides distinct educational or entertainment value." A reframed, captioned short cut on a sentence is that; a raw slice with black bars is not. This applies to your own episodes; it is not a licence to clip other people's shows.

Do I need a video podcast, or does audio work?

Cliplala is built for video. It reads faces to choose the crop and the layout. An audio-only episode has nothing to frame, so a static image with captions is not something it makes today.

Is the podcast clipper free?

Your first 60 minutes of source video are free with no credit card. Those shorts carry a small Cliplala watermark. Paid plans start at $14 a month for 4 hours of video and have no watermark.

Can I post the shorts straight to TikTok, Reels and Shorts?

Yes. The results page queues them to 10+ platforms. You do not download and re-upload anything, though a download is there if you want it.

Is my video used to train anything?

No. Your uploads are used to make your shorts and for nothing else. Source files are deleted after 30 days; the shorts stay.

What does it cost for a weekly show?

Plans are metered on hours of episode you send in, not on shorts out. Lite is $14 a month for 4 hours, which fits a weekly one-hour show in most months. Starter is $28 for 8 hours, which leaves room to spare and adds seats for a co-host or editor. Cancel any time; a charge is refunded in full within 7 days if no episode has run on the plan.
