Cliplala

Long video to short video converter, cuts that end on a sentence

Paste a link or upload the file. Cliplala reads the transcript, picks the moments that stand on their own, crops each one to 9:16 around the person talking, and burns in captions. You get a ranked list and post the ones you like.

What came out of this one

Real shorts from the source above, in the order the engine ranked them, with the reason it wrote for each.

Software hasn't fundamentally changed in 70 years—then it changed twice in a few years

Why. Counterintuitive framing of AI as a double discontinuity in software history. Positions the listener's entry into the industry at an inflection point.

  2. #2 · 84 · 66s

Build Iron Man suits, not Iron Man robots—partial autonomy augmentation, not flashy agents

Why. Unifies the autonomy slider concept into a memorable metaphor. Guides product strategy.

  3. #3 · 83 · 22s

2025 is not the year of agents—this is the decade of agents. We need humans in the loop.

Why. Directly contradicts industry hype with authority and humor. Legitimizes caution.

YouTube link or a file from your machine. Length is not a limit; the plan is metered on hours of source.

The engine finds the moments and cuts them

It transcribes, scores the moments, snaps every edge to a word boundary, and checks that each short still makes sense alone. Then it crops to 9:16 and follows the face.

  3. 03

Review the ranked shorts and queue them

Each short comes with a reason. Fix a caption, swap a layout, then queue the good ones into Schedulala for 10+ platforms.

Your back catalogue is a month of shorts

Every long video you have already published has moments that work alone. Run the catalogue through and the shorts shelf fills itself, without filming anything new.

Convert a video

Long to short without losing the sentence

A converter that cuts on a score alone leaves you with clips that open mid-word. This one pads every cut to the nearest word from the transcript and drops the shorts that still do not stand on their own. You review fewer clips, and all of them are postable.

The crop follows the person, not the centre of the frame

A wide 16:9 frame has to lose two thirds of its width to become 9:16. The engine tracks the face through cuts and camera moves and keeps the crop on it, so a walk across the room does not walk out of the short. How it handles a game and a face cam together.

Captions rendered into the file

Word-level captions with the active word lit, in one of ten styles. They are burned into the video, so they look the same on every platform and never depend on a viewer turning them on. More on captions.

Metered on hours of video, not on clips

Cliplala meters the video you upload, not the shorts it makes. Lite is $14 a month for 4 hours; Pro is $78 for 25. Every plan posts to 10+ platforms, and every plan from Starter up includes seats for a team. The first 60 minutes are free, with a small watermark on the clips; paid plans have none. Full pricing.

What it does

  • Link or file. Paste a YouTube link, or upload the file straight from your machine.
  • Bad cuts dropped. A short that starts or ends mid-thought does not reach you.
  • Face tracking. The crop follows the person, through cuts and camera moves.
  • Burned-in captions. Word-level, active word highlighted, ten styles. Rendered into the file.
  • Ranked with reasons. Every short says why it was picked, so you can disagree with it.
  • Queue to 10+ platforms. Post from the results page. No export step.
  • Priced on hours. Metered on source video. From $14 a month for 4 hours.
  • Shorts never expire. Source files are kept 30 days. The shorts you made stay.

What it does not promise

  • A fixed number of shorts. De-duplication and the coherence check drop shorts on purpose; a tight talk yields more than a rambling one.
  • A score that predicts views. Every short gets a rank and a written reason, and you can disagree with it.
  • A time. Long sources take longer; you see shorts as they finish.

Claims on this page come from what ships today. If a row above says it, the engine does it.

Questions

How do I convert a long video into short videos?

Paste the link or upload the file. Cliplala transcribes the video, finds the moments that stand on their own, cuts them to 9:16 with the person in frame and captions burned in, and shows them ranked. You review, then queue the ones you like to 10+ platforms through Schedulala.

How many shorts do I get from one video?

It depends on the video. The engine keeps the moments that stand on their own and drops near-duplicates and cuts that start or end mid-thought, so a tight talk can return more usable shorts than a rambling one. You can set a target count and a clip length before it runs.

How long are the shorts?

Between 15 and 90 seconds by default, snapped to sentence edges so nothing is cut mid-word. You can set the range before the run.

Does it work on a 16:9 video with more than one person?

Yes. When two people are on screen it stacks them; when one is on a close-up it goes solo. The choice is made about once a second from what is on screen, not once per clip.

Is the long video to short video converter free?

Your first 60 minutes of source video are free with no credit card. Those shorts carry a small Cliplala watermark. Paid plans start at $14 a month for 4 hours of video and have no watermark.

Can I post the shorts straight to TikTok, Reels and Shorts?

Yes. The results page queues them to 10+ platforms. You do not download and re-upload anything, though a download is there if you want it.

What can I upload?

A YouTube link, or a file: mp4, mov, m4v, mkv or webm. Uploads go from your browser straight to private storage, so a long file does not have to pass through a form.

Is my video used to train anything?

No. Your uploads are used to make your shorts and for nothing else. Source files are deleted after 30 days; the shorts stay.
