Cliplala vs Submagic
Submagic started as a caption editor for shorts you already cut, and now clips long videos too. It is priced per member and per video. Cliplala is priced per hour of source video, includes seats, and queues to 10+ platforms through Schedulala. Here is the whole picture, including where Submagic wins.
60 minutes of video free. No credit card.
Pick Submagic if
- You mostly caption and polish shorts you already cut, and want b-roll, auto zoom, silence removal and clean audio in one editor
- Caption accuracy is your first question: Submagic publishes 99% and 123 languages
- You want 4K at 60 frames a second
- You want an API
Pick Cliplala if
- You send long videos and want to pay by the hour of source, not per finished video
- You share one plan with a few friends and want seats included, not a price per member
- You never want a single video capped at 2, 5 or 30 minutes
- You post to more than a few platforms and want them all in one queue
- You clip gameplay or streams and want the game and your cam on screen together

Try 60 minutes free
Paste a link or drop a file. Your first 60 minutes of video run free with a small Cliplala watermark, and you can post or download the shorts. No card.
- 2
Connect your channels in Schedulala
Posting goes through Schedulala, built in. You connect your channels inside Cliplala once, and every short can queue to all of them. There is no second account to open.

Count hours, not videos
Add up the hours of long video you send in a month. A 75-minute podcast is 1.25 hours. Pick the rung that covers it; every rung includes seats and no video is capped by length.
Questions people ask before switching
Is Cliplala cheaper than Submagic?
For one person, the entry stickers are $14 against $19 a month, or $10.50 against $12 paid yearly. The bigger difference is the unit: Submagic charges per member and caps each video at 2, 5 or 30 minutes, while we charge per plan for hours of source video with no cap on one video.
What is a source-hour?
One hour of the video you send us. A 75-minute podcast is 1.25 hours. It is the only unit we use, on every plan.
What does Submagic have that you do not?
A text-based editor with b-roll, auto zoom, silence and bad-take removal and clean audio, a published caption accuracy number and 123 languages, 4K at 60 fps, built-in analytics, and an API. If you need those, Submagic is the better pick today.
Do my shorts expire if I stop paying?
No. Shorts are yours on every plan, including free, and they stay after you cancel. The uploaded source video is kept for 30 days. Submagic does not publish an expiry rule.
Do you train AI models on my videos?
No. Your uploads are used to make your shorts and for nothing else. It is written in our terms and privacy policy.
Can I post to the same platforms?
Submagic publishes from Pro and up, with one profile per platform on Pro and three on Business. We queue to 10+ platforms through Schedulala on every paid plan. You connect your channels inside Cliplala once, and you check each short before it goes.
